Don Kike
Don Kike's journey towards becoming a renowned cigar roller is truly inspiring. He was born in San Luis, San Luis, Pinar del Río Cuba, a place known for producing the finest tobacco in the world. It's amazing that his passion for rolling cigars started at a young age when he observed his father and his friends having a cigar rolling event. He later got trained to sow seedbeds, which is a basic skill that every Cuban learns in school. Despite traveling to Europe to study, Don Kike's love for cigar rolling brought him back to Cuba where he met his mentor and friend Denyer, who passed down his skills to him. It's great to hear that Don Kike is now known for his exceptional cigars and that he truly loves what he does.

Selection of Tobacco Leaves:
The first step in making handcrafted cigars is selecting the appropriate tobacco leaves. Different leaves from various parts of the tobacco plant are chosen for different purposes, such as wrapper, binder, and filler.
Pressing:
Some cigar manufacturers choose to press their cigars after rolling to ensure an even burn and consistent shape. Pressing can be done using molds or presses, and it helps to compact the tobacco leaves and create a uniform cigar.
Sorting and Fermentation:
After harvesting, the tobacco leaves undergo sorting and fermentation processes. Fermentation helps to develop the desired flavors and aromas while also reducing harshness.
Aging:
After rolling, cigars are typically aged in a controlled environment, such as a humidor. Aging allows the flavors and aromas of the tobacco to further develop and harmonize, resulting in a smoother smoking experience.
Rolling:
Once the tobacco leaves are properly aged and fermented, the rolling process begins. Skilled cigar rollers, also known as torcedores, carefully bunch and roll the leaves to create the cigar's shape and size. The wrapper leaf is then applied to the outside of the cigar, enclosing the filler and binder leaves.
Quality Control:
Throughout the entire process, quality control measures are implemented to ensure that each cigar meets the manufacturer's standards. This may include visual inspections, draw testing, and flavor assessments.
